Educational Background & Professional Distinctions

Tracing back to his academic roots, Dr. Zagoria graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University and was recognized by the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society during his medical education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Further strengthening his specialization, he completed his Residency and Chief Residency at Wake Forest University Medical Center, followed by a Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging and Interventional Radiology at Wake Forest and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Zagoria has consistently been recognized as a top professional in his field, ranking within the top 1% of radiologists in the USA for over 15 years and being honored as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and the American Registry. This excellence has led to his receipt of the Gold Medal Awards from the Society of Abdominal Radiology and the American Society of Emergency Radiology.

Patient-Centric Leadership

Dr. Zagoria’s career features numerous leadership roles, including Professor in Radiology and Urology, Section Chief, Executive Vice Chair, and Interim Chair at Wake Forest University. He has also been an active contributor to professional organizations, serving as the President of the Association of Program Directors in Radiology and the Society of Uroradiology. His vast field contributions include authoring or co-authoring eight textbooks, publishing numerous research papers, and serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Emergency Radiology journal since 2006.

These wide-ranging contributions have earned him Fellowships from prestigious professional organizations, such as the American College of Radiology, the Society of Abdominal Radiology, the American Society of Emergency Radiology, and the Society of Uroradiology, and the European Society of Urogenital Radiology.
